Well, there's the Clarkson Covered Bridge...built near where the Battle of Hog Mountain was fought in 1863. Oh, you don't know about Hog Mountain? Neither did we. But the bridge is pretty cool, if you aren't afraid of heights (I am). 270 feet of rickety-old-warped-rebuilt bridgeness with space between the slats just to make sure you can see how far up you really are.
But bridges aren't to your liking, there's always The Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament. Beautiful grounds and because you can't tell from the pictures below, it's actually a Catholic church. Especially nice though is the small castle that doubles as their gift shop. At least that's what my kids liked.
And now that we're out of local "attractions" we spent the remainder of our time playing with Grandma and Papa Gaufin. Building towers, going to the park, playing cars, painting eggs (Easter was coming), and of course watching movies...
Carl's parents thought they were coming to the hot and humid south...it was freezing nearly the entire 2 weeks they were here but that didn't stop us from bundling up and playing outside. And in case it's not clear in the picture, somewhere between 14 months and 22 months Tyler developed a distinct fear of swings. Weird.
