Conference on Saturday was followed by the arrival of my sister Allison and my Mom for a visit. We celebrated Ally's final departure from adolescence with a yummy pasta dinner (not pictured) and a mediocre apple pie (apple pie is better with fuji's). Fresh out of candles, Carl improvised and used q-tips dipped in nail polish remover taped to toothpicks. Don't worry the stench left as quickly as the flame.Connor spit out the bite of pie and declared "Ew! Gross!" (he's not a pie lover) but squealed with excitement when Carl set him up on a chair and let him help wash dishes. What great boys I have!

It's fun to see Allison all grown up, she's so pretty. Looks like a great apple pie--I've never tried doing one wih fuji's--I always use granny smiths, maybe I'll have to try something new! And awesome that you've got Connor doing dishes...maybe he can teach my 7 year old a thing or two!:)
I'm impressed with Carl's candle ingenuity. So clever. A little gross. But awesome nonetheless. :)
