On Friday, as soon as Tyler went down for nap, Connor and I pulled out a blanket and laid it in the middle of the floor. We sang a few songs including 'Old McDonald' (being that we're focusing on animals this week) and played cards (Connor has a card set of animals and we just tested each other on the names of various animals, the sounds they make, and then either put them in the "zoo" or somewhere else). After cards we played "Hide From the Bears". This is a game that Carl and Connor made up when we were living in California. They would run around the house whispering, "A bear is coming. Hurry! Hide!" and then tuck themselves away in Connor's empty closet. Here in Idaho we're fresh out of empty closets so now Connor "hides" from the bears under the kitchen table, except for when he's looking for them in the toilet... After our game of bear chasing, we made banana bread and shared some with Curious George.
Connor is developing quite a capable imagination - just today he and Carl were "swimming" across an ocean and Connor stopped mid-swim to take off his socks so they wouldn't get wet. :)
Upcoming Field Trip: The Tautphaus Park Zoo. This coming week Sep. 7-11, the zoo is free to adults accompanied by a baby in a stroller.

Really, you are such a good mom Kristen!! I find myself in your old shoes with a two year old and little energy being pregnant watching all my friends being proactive and busy around me. Keep it up, you inspire me!
You're doing great! My daughter, Laura, who graduated in Early Childhood Ed from BYU and has three little ones of her own, has done some awesome preschool activities with her kids and blogs about it. Her blog is private, but if you email me I can send you her email address and she'll invite you. More ideas are always fun!
You are such a great mom...
