Downsizing
I'm what I like to call a changer. I like change. Sometimes it can make me a little nervous but for the most part, I think of it as an opportunity to try something new. I like new. The desire for new is what sparked my interest in purchasing a home and convincing my husband that whenever he's ready, I'm willing to pack it all up and move across the country. "New" is also what spurred on my efforts to start my own business, which hasn't exactly taken off like I'd imagined, AND this blog. It motivates my obssession-driven hobbies like scrapbooking, quilting, & pondering what new career I want to pursue when all my children have at least reached high school (radiation therapy is in the lead). And finally it is "new" that has compelled me to want to rearrange my furniture SO much that I'm willing to get rid of some to make things exciting again - those who've seen my apartment know I'm limited in rearranging options. In fact, my preoccupation with rearranging my living room alone has created a sort of whirlpool effect into which all rooms in my house are now prey. I want to get rid of everything. I call it downsizing but in reality I'm just trying to trash the unnecessary "junk". In the process, I've sold back all my textbooks to book buyback sites online & committed myself to sell my wedding dress. Knick-knacks are no more and I'm tossing in the towel on the extra tv. All in all, it's a rather cleansing experience. I heard once - truth be told, it was probably Oprah - that when you organize your home and your physical belongings, you open the door for change in yourself, and like I said, I like change.

Change is good... Junk is bad!
Hi Kristin!
Remember me? Natalie Haines.
I feel the same way about stuff... I have this sudden desire to go through every nook and cranny in our house and get rid of all extra stuff. If we don't LOVE it or don't NEED it, it is gone.
I think that you and I would get along well.... :)
Say hi to Carl for us.
