A little jaunt north

A couple months ago we took a daytrip to Nashville.  We picked up some powdered milk from the Bishop's Storehouse there and then spent the day exploring.  One of our favorite finds was the Nashville Library.  It's gorgeous!  Large halls with marble stairs, an enormous children's section complete with little kid-sized chairs and a few toys.  AND a children's theater room with sound equipment, lighting, and a big red curtain.  We caught a show about Paul Bunyan and loved it.

After the library we decided to check out the Nashville Zoo as well.  Another big hit.  The kids had a blast in the play area which was full of nets to climb on and giant reptilian replicas to climb through and sit on.  The up-close and personal view of the alligator tied with the "Artic Blast" slushie with unlimited refills (I think we got 6 in the short time we were there) for first place though.
