Sundays for the Gaufins...

"I not go to church..." repeated several times by resident 2 yr. old before church. Excitement reinstated only when promised he can "shave" and do his hair.

"Done?" repeated by same 2 yr. old after EVERY hymn sung and "amen" uttered during Sacrament Meeting (this is especially fun for everyone around us on Fast Sundays when lots of people bear their testimony or during the Primary Program when there's lots of singing).

A geyser of tears directly following the closing prayer for Sacrament Meeting indicating it is now time to go to nursery.

Happiness restored when Mom or Dad stay with Connor during nursery. More happiness when church is over and we're all "safe" for another week.

Church has a tendency to wear us all out, hence the ritual nap.

Early dinner followed by a walk in the neighborhood. This Sunday was no different, although after being chased by a HUGE rottweiler who was thankfully chained to a large tree in the front yard we've decided to be more selective in our routes.

To Connor's credit, he was marvelous during Sacrament Meeting this last week. Carl was asked to help pass the sacrament, leaving me alone for the first time with both boys during church. I confess I was skeptical that we'd last very long in the chapel. Perhaps it was the fire alarm that went off for several minutes RIGHT in the middle of sacrament that provided enough of a diversion that Connor didn't think to act up OR maybe he's growing up a little bit after all. Whatever the reason, I felt pleased as punch that his behavior was appropriate and contained. Well done Little Man!

P.S. Looks like they're related after all...

Those boys sure are cute, and sure DO look alike!:) I think it's funny that the only thing I can do to appease Spencer is to tell him that if he's good he gets to go to nursery!:) I'm hoping the next one is as excited about nursery as I always am at 18 months!:)

Really, he sits through sacrament meeting like a big kid? Sheesh, Im jealous... The nursery part is a bummer though, hope that gets better! And as for Tyler sucking on the blanket, that's just funny! Start buying multiple blankies so you can wash them without fits eh?!
