Not quite a year ago I did one of those tag surveys. Looking to see what I'd blogged about in past posts, I discovered it. Before reading it, I decided to quickly do it again and then see how things have or have not changed. So for today, here are 8 Things... To see how much I've changed, click HERE.
8 Things I'm Passionate About:
1. Organizing, planning, & preparing
2. the Future (sometimes to the detriment of the present)
3. My family (including getting the one inside to the outside!)
4. Getting on top of our food storage
5. Developing new hobbies & skills like sewing
6. Accomplishing things
7. Progress & improvement
8. Food (this probably made the list because I'm pregnant although often is true during unpregnant times as well)
8 Books I've Read & Enjoyed:
1. Book of Mormon (& other standard works, minus the Old Testament - perhaps this shows my immaturity but the OT has some strange stuff to sift through to get to the good stuff)
2. 7 Habits of Highly Effective People (who knew it's not just a book for business managers?)
3. I See A Monster
4. Goodnight Moon
5. Barnyard Dance
6. The Twilight Series
7. Biscuit Goes to School
8. I Can Do It Myself
8 Words/Phrases I Say Often:
1. I'm swollen. My feet are swollen, my hands are swollen, my face is swollen. Do you see this?
2. Connor. No.
3. Connor, get down please.
4. Connor, we don't throw food (or toys or blocks or shoes, etc.)
5. Aw, I love you!
6. You are SO cute!
7. Is it naptime yet?
8. Ready, GOOOOO! (as Connor runs from the living room down the hall and back)
8 Things I want to do Before I Die:
1. Buy a house.
2. Decorate said house.
3. Learn to sew cool things (click HERE to see my current project attempt).
4. Have a place for everything we own.
5. Be really fit & in shape & maybe run another race or two.
6. Plant (& keep alive) a garden and fruit trees.
7. Go back to school and get another degree in something totally different than English or Counseling & Student Services.
8. Enjoy retirement with my amazing husband & go on a few missions, serve in the temple, and all that fun stuff together.
8 Things I've Learned This Past Year:
1. It's not really new info, I knew it when I got into this, but I've been reminded regularly that I married not only an incredibly amazing man but the perfect one for me.
2. Pregnancy is supposed to be sorrowful, large, & very uncomfortable (see footnote in Genesis 3:16)
3. Heavenly Father has a plan and He'll tell you what it is if you take the time to ask Him.
4. Miracles are not a thing of the past.
5. Spending time with family is a worthy trade for not having a perfectly clean home.
6. My attitude contributes significantly to the Spirit and feeling in our home. Of course I would figure this out while I'm pregnant and far more susceptible to raging & unexplainable hormones.
7. T.V. isn't that cool and the less I watch of it, the more peace I really do feel in my life. Don't worry, I haven't given up my favorites though (yay for Lost!)
8. Give the Lord your best and He'll give you His.
8 Places/Things I Want to See:
1. Heaven (ok, Celestial Kingdom)
2. Anywhere if I'm with Carl
3. the Future
4. Where we'll be living for the next few years
5. Sentinel Dome
6. my toes again
7. the French countryside
8. Poland (where Carl served his mission)
8 Things I Miss:
1. Being able to easily tie my own shoes.
2. Sleeping through the night.
3. Being able to go out to eat whenever I want and stay out late and live life a little more spontaneously.
4. Going to church and feeling relaxed when I leave.
5. Eating ice cream (I know, I know, it's only been a couple of days, but still...the cravings are worse the closer I get to delivery).
6. Running
7. Having such a thing as leisure time (I suppose I have it now after Connor goes to bed but I'm usually pretty wiped out by then)
8. Shopping without children.
8 Things I Currently Want/Need:
1. a BIG vacation with my family (fortunately that's coming soon)
2. a date with my husband (we're waiting for X-Men)
3. a middle name for the child on the way
4. the energy to make a HUGE batch of strawberry jam in about 4 weeks before the baby comes
5. an apartment that is all on one floor (no more of this upstairs/downstairs stuff!)
6. Patience (apparently I will always need more of this)
7. a new movie like Bolt (I've got Cars, Kung Fu Panda, Jonah & the Whale, Bob the Builder, & Blue's Clues COMPLETELY memorized...and I've seen every Curious George episode on t.v. at least 4 times)
8. a way to earn money while sleeping...wouldn't THAT be nice. :)

...I would earn SO MUCH money! :) So, what's baby's first name? Marcos and I cannot agree on ANY boy names yet. He'll either be nameless or have like 6 names to include all preferences. Poor kid.
I love the bag you're working on, can't wait to see it when it's finished.
Geez, you think you're prego or something will all that talk about not sleeping and swollen feet. ONLY 6 more weeks though!!! And your top 8 things you are passionate about are very similar to things I think about myself. I knew I liked you for some reason!
Hey! Love the new look for your blog (it may just be me though-I haven't swung by in a while). It looks as though you are hangin' in there being preggo and chasing after a busy little boy! What a good mom you are! We're scheduled for May 1st. I can't wait!
Hey Carl, It's good to see you and your cute little fam! It's good to hear from you, we should have a Mad 1st reunion sometime! Connor is so cute!
I loved the things that you learned this past year. thanks for that reminder. okay, I'll stop leaving comments all over your blog.
I just miss you Kristen.
