Quick Catch-up

Always looking for some new way to entertain my toddler, I rediscovered the LIBRARY! Aside from having a well-stocked children's section all cornered off with loads of blocks, board books, toys, puzzles, & crayons and coloring books, Fig Garden Library also does a toddler class. Thursdays at 10am is for kids between 2 and 4-ish. FRIDAYS at 10am is for ME...well, for toddlers 1-2 years old. They use their conference room and dump buckets of stuffed animals on the floor for the kids to play with while they sing songs for 10 minutes. It was like a secular version of Nursery. It was FABULOUS! Following singing time they had a quick story and then dumped out two more large buckets of toys (most of which we don't have at home so Connor was fully entertained!) and just let the kiddos play for a while. We can't wait to go back! If you live nearby and need something to do, we hope you'll join us! :)

In other news:
Connor has learned to like his hood. He tries to put it on even if his jacket doesn't have one. On this particular day I decided to introduce to him the idea of an umbrella. Clearly he's excited.
So far so good...

Hmm, maybe he'll catch on next time. I guess the hood was counterproductive, he didn't know to keep the umbrella up because he couldn't feel the rain on his head...either that or he was suddenly much more interested in the flooding puddled yard of our neighbors. Tough call.

And finally, Valentine's Day:
We had "love potion" smoothies for breakfast. Connor was delighted.

Equally as exciting was the eager anticipation of his Valentine's Day cupcake (after lunch, not breakfast):
