I completely toasted the burner & stained a wooden spoon but I only had to blow out one flame (it was just a baby flame!) when the pot boiled over which I think is rather impressive when you consider that this is the very first time EVER that I have attempted to make any sort of jam without my mother there to either take the lead or at the least offer moral support and explicit directions. Getting down to the wire and being nearly entirely out of homemade jam though infused me with just enough guts to give it a go by myself. My net result? 10 beautiful pint jars of homemade plum jam. Maybe we'll make it til May when I can do strawberry after all.
And of course I had to taste it to make sure it came out alright. Tasty! I do love toast and jam!
