I have been blogging about Carl a lot lately - one theory is that he was jealous there was so much about Connor that he began creating blog-worthy moments and quotes so he'll make an appearance on the blog every once in a while. The other theory suggests that he is just as childlike as Connor much of the time that if I pay attention, I'll notice just as much funny stuff about Carl as I do Connor. Such a moment occurred this morning:
With Valentine's Day approaching I've been scouring the internet for a no fail fabulous dessert recipe to wow my family with. After a few days of finding things like this:
I came to the conclusion that I would not get the reaction I'd be hoping for ("WOW! This is AMAZING!") from either of my patrons. Connor is too young and Carl just doesn't care. This morning Carl was rifling through the few things we received for Valentine's Day (a little early) from his parent's while visiting yesterday and all of a sudden I hear this, "NO WAY!" I look up to see Carl holding his coveted discovery:
"Yes, dear, one of those Pez is for you," I confirmed. The grin on his face said it all, he was clearly elated. Thus, this Valentine's Day we'll be celebrating not with a decadent chocolate trifle or incredible mouth-watering red velvet cake, but with these:
Ooey, Gooey, Marshmallow Treats, in honor of my "boys"!

Just sprinkle some red sprinkles on it for a Valentine twist :). Isn't it nice that the simple things in life can still get such great reactions.
Hahaha
And I bet they were the BEST RICE KRISPIE TREATS EVAAAR!
Well what will they make you craving anything? My kids would love those to!
I LOVE this idea! Brian isn't too keen on 'fancy' desserts. I might have to borrow your idea. =)
Those desserts look amazing, but we are right there with you! It will be Rice Krispy treats and sugar cookies at the Miner home!
I SO was hoping you were going to post a fabulous recipe for that beautiful looking cake. But I had to laugh--I was actually (I may still) going to buy some valentine pez for Adam. Really it's not about the dispenser, he just LOVES pez, and I saw some while valentine's shopping the other day. I've taken to buying him them for Christmas actually. Our husbands are probably a lot alike I have a feeling...remember, my husband was going to be an engineer too. Hey, and what ever happened to moving? Is that just never going to happen? We need to chat, but I can't find your new cell number. Call me sometime k? Ohhh...I think I'm off to make crispy treats. If you only knew that I have two big bags of marshmallows and LOT of rice crispys in my kitchen for that very purpose!:) It's NOT good!:)
