"Totally pretty-making"

In my whirlwind downsizing I pulled out my wedding dress, still hanging in its zipper bag since the last time I put it on which was NOT my wedding day but about 3 months later just after learning I was pregnant. I tried it on one last time afraid I’d never get to wear it again. That notion has held true so far and in a moment of frustration with all the “stuff” I have drowning any sense of a clutter-free world, I pulled it out convinced that selling it is the best thing to do. Since then, I’ve searched through all of my wedding pictures for those that best showcase the dress and posted an ad on craigslist. It hangs in my upstairs hallway and every day I pass it dozens of times and I am now rethinking my decision. My sudden recant is fueled by this one thought alone: a party for all those girls who have beautiful wedding/bridesmaid/maid of honor/new year’s/etc. dresses without another occasion to don them. Imagine, a large group of girls all dolled up going out to eat or staying home and enjoying our dresses. Let’s be honest, we loved them the first time we wore them, why not wear them again?!
